Prices of 14 essential commodities increased in the country last week
The pace of inflation is increasing again in the country, during the last week, weekly inflation has increased by 0.73 percent, while inflation on an annual basis has reached 4.32 percent.
In the last week, 14 essential commodities became expensive and 12 prices were recorded to decrease, while the prices of 25 essential commodities remained stable.
The Federal Bureau of Statistics has released a weekly report on inflation.
According to the report of the Bureau of Statistics, tomatoes became cheaper by 28 percent, onions by 10 percent and potatoes by 4.58 percent, while salt, gram, garlic, eggs and flour are also among the items that have become cheaper.
According to the report, the prices of pulses, moong, ghee, cooking oil and dry milk have increased, while sugar, jaggery, beef, electricity, LPG, cigarettes and wood have also become expensive. Sugar is being sold for Rs 179 to Rs 220 per kg in different cities, and the electricity tariff for the lower class has increased by more than 11 percent.
The statistics show that during the recent week, the annual inflation rate for the group earning up to Rs 17,732 per month decreased by 0.094 percent to 3.85 percent, for the group earning between Rs 17,733 and Rs 22,888 per month, the inflation rate increased by 0.99 percent to 4.70 percent, and for the group earning between Rs 22,889 and Rs 29,517 per month, the inflation rate decreased by 0.49 percent to 4.60 percent.
Similarly, the rate of inflation for the group with an income of Rs. 29,518 to Rs. 44,175 per month increased by 0.28 percent to 4.40 percent, while for the group with an income of more than Rs. 44,176 per month, the rate of inflation increased by 0.60 percent to 3.79 percent.
