“Help Is Coming”: Trump Urges Iranian Protesters to Take Control of State Institutions
Trump message to Iranian protesters
According to international media reports, President Trump shared the message through his official social media platform, Truth Social, marking his first direct address to Iranian protesters during the current unrest.
In his statement, Trump urged what he described as “patriots of Iran” to remain steadfast, continue protests across the country, and seize control of government institutions, assuring them that external support is forthcoming. He further stated that individuals responsible for violence and repression against protesters are being identified and will eventually be held accountable.
The US president also announced that all diplomatic negotiations with Iranian authorities have been suspended until what he described as the killing of protesters is brought to an end.
Trump’s remarks came shortly after Iran’s foreign minister claimed in an interview that American-made weapons and ammunition had been recovered from individuals involved in the unrest. Iranian officials also alleged that foreign-based communications had instructed armed action against police and demonstrators.
Protests across Iran have reportedly intensified since late December, with conflicting and alarming reports emerging regarding casualties and arrests. In earlier statements, Trump had warned that further deaths among protesters could provoke a severe response, including the possibility of military action.
The situation remains volatile as international pressure on Tehran continues to grow.
